The Stewards requested a report from P.A.Fahy, trainer, concerning the failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for Der Mc. The trainer reported that he had made every effort to book an apprentice for his charge before the deadline but had been unable to do so. He nominated H.J. Horgan after the deadline when he became free due to his mount becoming a non-runner. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanation offered and allowed the nomination of H.J. Horgan
The Stewards enquired into an incident approximately one and a half furlongs from the finish involving Kudbegood, ridden by D.N. Curran, and Pursuit Of Magic, ridden by T.P. Madden, where it appeared Pursuit Of Magic checked significantly. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found D.N. Curran in breach of Rule 214 by riding carelessly and having taken his record into account suspended him for 2 race days
T.P. Madden, rider of Pursuit Of Magic trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount checked inside the final two furlongs.
