The winner Monte Linas (IRE) appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Chester on 17 June 2023 where the gelding finished eighth of ten runners, beaten 12 ½ lengths.
The explanation given by Simon and Ed Crisford that the gelding may have benefitted from a step up in trip to 1 mile from 7 ½ furlongs and was also suited by the track here at York on this occasion, was noted.
Monte Linas (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Daniel Tudhope reported that Concert Boy (IRE), unplaced, missed the break.
