The Stewards enquired into an incident about one furlong from the finish involving Numerian, ridden by D.P
McDonogh, placed second and Armory, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed first, where it appeared that Armory checked when about to deliver a challenge. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.A. Heffernan stated that his mount was running away with nowhere to go and no interference had taken place. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action
