The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the home straight involving Albion Power, ridden by P
McGettigan, unplaced, Mary Bagot, ridden by J. Cleary, unplaced and Suityourselfboss, ridden by M.W Hassett, unplaced, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. P
McGettigan stated that he felt pressure from the right causing his mount to drift left. J. Cleary stated that he felt pressure from the outside and had to sit for a stride. M.W Hassett stated that his mount drifted left and that he shortened his right rein to straighten his mount back up. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found M.W Hassett was in breach of Rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record (third offence), the Raceday Stewards suspended him for eight racedays
J. Cleary, rider of Mary Bagot, trained by M. Halford & T. Collins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got a squeeze in the home straight.
