The Stewards interviewed C.D. Hayes, rider of Majestic Timeline, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion C.D. Hayes was in breach of Regulation 10 3 (g) in that he used his whip with his arm above shoulder height, and having taken his record into account, they suspended him for 1 raceday. D.P. McDonogh, rider of National Service (USA) trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was sore on pulling up after this race. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined National Service (USA), trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame post race.

An extended handicap for three yrs old and upwards (75 = 9st 10lb)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap; shall not be less than 9st 10lb
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra for each race won Any horse rated above 75 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 9st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 75 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse.
