The Starter reported that Pierre-Louis Jamin, the rider of Little Miss Daisy (GB), drawn 9, had originally entered the wrong stall.
The rider and Starter were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
The rider was cautioned.
Pierre-Louis Jamin, the rider of Little Miss Daisy (GB), was slow to remove the blindfold resulting in his horse being slow to start.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Jamin’s explanation that the filly had reared as the stalls opened meaning he was unable to remove the blind was noted.
An enquiry was held to consider interference entering the first bend involving ZIPEDEEDOODAH (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by William Carver, the winner, Pharoh Jake (GB), ridden by Ellie MacKenzie, Pranceabootthetoon (IRE), placed third, ridden by Amelia Glass, Mercers (GB), which fell, ridden by Tristan Price, Impart (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Gavin Ashton, and Temple Road (IRE), which fell, ridden by Kerrie Raybould.
Raybould was unable to attend the enquiry as she was receiving treatment for her injuries sustained in the fall.
It was found that Mercers (GB) had clipped the heel of Impart (GB) which had been allowed to drift right-handed at the same time as ZIPEDEEDOODAH (IRE) had been allowed to drift left-handed when not sufficiently clear, taking Pharoh Jake (GB) left-handed, and tightening up Pranceabootthetoon (IRE) and Mercers (GB), causing the latter to fall after clipping heels.
As a consequence, Temple Road (IRE) had stumbled over Mercers (GB), unseating Raybould.
Ashton was suspended for 5 days and Carver was suspended for 7 days, both for careless riding.
