Awe (GB) wore earplugs in the preliminaries and to the start, at which point they were removed.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race following interference inside the final furlong when the winner, Motafaawit (IRE), ridden by Jim Crowley, interfered with Awe (GB), placed second, ridden by Martin Dwyer.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Motafaawit (IRE) as although Awe (GB) had been intimidated off its intended line, the colt appeared to lose very little momentum, Dwyer had never had to stop riding and the winner looked to always be holding the second on the run to the line, with half a length between the two at finish.
Crowley was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift left-handed without sufficient correction.
Following the race, Jim Crowley reported that the winner, Motafaawit (IRE), hung left-handed, and Frankie Dettori reported that Deep Intrigue (GB), placed fourth, hung left-handed.
