FormscanBy Michael Graham - ARTHUR'S VICTORY came home fourth in a higher grade at Punchestown last week which ought to bring her into contention for this handicap hurdle. San Aer would prefer more cut in the ground, but has been in decent form on the Flat and could show up well. It is a long time since Willywampus has been seen over flights, but his chasing form merits respect. The concern is that he certainly appears to prefer fences. Marlpark has to bounce back from being pulled up at Gowran Park, however, he did win on his penultimate start in Clonmel. Perhaps the ground caught Romella out when she weakened out of contention at Limerick on Tuesday. Better ground will help, but she may be best watched.

He has been disappointing up until now as we thought the world of him from the get-go. I bought him from Will Delaney as he is a half-brother to both Kilcarry Bridge and Kilashee (stablemates) and is out of a half-sister to Hear The Echo. He is a proper little horse and there's no reason he won't go forward now. Shane gave him a peach of a ride and really switched him off in front. He was running a huge race when falling at Fairyhouse - I'm not a huge fan of those new hurdles and I think he would have finished third then. I was nervous for a moment but he said if he had to pull him up to go wide, it would have sickened the horse so he kept chancing the inside. He got a good ride, loves that ground and it couldn't be heavy enough for him. He won this race last year, is a great honest horse and keeps pulling out every day. He had a nice second last week and while he got stopped, wouldn't have won. He'll go to the Curragh on Sunday for either a E50,000 mile handicap or another race over seven furlongs.
