FormscanBy Tom Weekes - ERIC BLOODAXE is one of only two horses to have beaten high class Ferny Hollow and is a good recruit to hurdling. ERIC BLOODAXE was absent for 452 days following a disappointing run at February in 2020 but it was encouraging to see him return in Punchestown's Champion Bumper, where he ran well in fourth. His career appears back on track and could take beating on seasonal reappearance and jumps debut. Highland Charge himself won on bumper debut in and while he needs to improve to beat the selection, is well-bred and should also make a nice hurdler. Malton Grove was a €55,000 foal purchase before selling to current connections for €160,000 in August 2020, four months after his half-brother Minella Times won the Grand National. He will presumably develop into a staying type and despite being a 4yo, notably bypasses a bumper for his debut. Vintage Prosseco was useful in bumpers and was placed over hurdles and has place claims. Debut point-to-point winner Supreme Jet was well held at Killarney but had previously shown useful form.
