FormscanBy Gary Carson - QUILIXIOS looked a real star in the making when claiming the Triumph Hurdle in impressive fashion last season and can make a winning return to action here. Henry de Bromhead's team were under a bit of a cloud when he disappointed on his final outing at Punchestown in early May and it may be best to draw a line through that run as it clearly wasn't his true form. This looks a nice starting point now for the Maxios gelding. Jeff Kidder is the obvious threat and has the advantage of a couple of recent runs on the Flat. It was a touch disappointing that he couldn't win off a lowly enough rating on the level but he was a big improver over timber last year, culminating in the Grade 1 victory at Punchestown, and is obviously a much better horse with a hurdle in front of him. Teahupoo has a few pounds to find with the top two but shaped like a nice horse on his first two wins last season and was a short price when turned over by Jeff Kidder at Fairyhouse back in April. There may be more to come from him this season.
