Knock On Steel proves his mettle Knock On Steel (10/3) made all in the beginners' chase that concluded Killarney's card. He was tracked by Convara throughout, but looked to have that one's measure after the third last. Convara tried to hunt him down but was untidy at the next, however, he got his second wind down the outer and was almost on terms at the last. Knock On Steel stayed on the stronger in the final 100 yards for Sean O'Keeffe, though, to pull out the victory by a length and a quarter. Convara took the runner-up prize at 6/1. He was 15 lengths clear of third-placed Da Vinci Rock (50/1). Trainer Brian Jordan said: "His run over hurdles the last day crowned him because he took a blow going to the last and it brought him on. We didn't get him away and he is only in since the end of March, so we are delighted with him. "He wants drier ground, so I thought with the rain it was after doing our chances in; hopefully we'll have fun for the summer now." Additional reporting by Tom Weekes
