Patrick Mullins enhanced a fine record when teaming up with trainer Tom Cooper as Oneinthewell stayed on best to land the concluding bumper at Leopardstown this afternoon.

The Mastercraftsman gelding went to post a well-backed 9/4 favourite on his debut and showed a willing attitude after a good duel with Eternal Echo

He just edged ahead from that rival in the closing stages to secure a length success.

The winner is out a half-sister to Altior and Cooper said afterwards:-

“He’s very lazy at home but he’s worked well away a few times with some nice horses. He has ability alright; it’s just a matter of getting it out of him.

“He has plenty left in the tank and doesn’t overexert himself.

“The nice ground helped him. He’s a Mastercraftsman and the dam is a sister to Altior so it’s a right page.

“We might look at the Listed race in Limerick.”

The success moved Mullins on to five winners from 10 rides for Cooper.
