Jacksonslady & Geraghty the perfect match Those investing in odds-on favourite Jacksonslady for the Cronin Electrical (Mares) Beginners Chase at Killarney might have seemed either brave or fool-hardy in advance of the two mile one furlong event but the seven-year-old fully justified her cramped odds with an impressive sixteen length success. Having joined the '1,000 club' recently, Barry Geraghty continues to ride at the peak of his powers. It is typical of the man to make his mount's mind up for them at the last. Here Jacksonslady had her race well won at that stage but she went and pinged the final obstacle on her way to slamming main market-rival Our Girl Lucey. They left Carrig Cottage eleven lengths back in third. Jacksonslady has been a marvellous servant to connections and she was adding to a point-to-point and three hurdling successes here for trainer Philip Dempsey. He said: "Her class got her through the ground and I'm hoping for an Indian summer now. "She might be a winter horse if the ground wasn't too heavy. "My son Luke rode her the last day in Wexford and he schooled her over fences yesterday morning. "She has black-type over hurdles and she might run back on the flat again too. We might give Listowel a miss with her." (TW & EM)
