From the time markets went up on the Duke And Duchess Of Cornwall Mares Handicap Hurdle, indications were that a few were well-fancied, and in the end it was the Gordon Elliott-trained and Cian Collins-ridden Isabella Liberty that landed the spoils.
Owned by the Twenty Syndicate, Isabella Liberty was following up on a Ballinrobe victory from earlier in the month. However, at one stage it looked like it would be Josephine Marcus day as she went to odds of 1/10 in running.
Isabella Liberty found plenty when required though, and she crossed the line a length up on that rival.
Market springer, Sweet Little Lies (from around 25s earlier into a starting price of 13/2) finished fourth.
"She was very good and while she was a bit out on her head early on, she stays galloping and jumped brilliantly," reflected Collins.
"She'll win plenty of those races during the summer and will go even further.
"I'm 18, from Tralee, Kerry and have been full time with Gordon (Elliott) for the last four months. That's my third winner."
