Reports in which Port Joulain (FR) was mentioned
Willie Mullins and Paul Townend completed a quick hat-trick at Punchestown this afternoon when Port Joulain justified favouritism in the two-mile-three maiden hurdle.
Mon 27th Jan
The going is sure to be testing at Punchestown this afternoon where a seven-race card gets underway at 1.10, while there is also Flat action under the lights in Dundalk with a rescheduled meeting from last Friday beginning at 4.45.
Mon 27th Jan
The Enabler just clung on after a thrilling conclusion to the 2m4f maiden hurdle that got Leopardstown's card under way.
Sun 29th Dec
Champion trainer Willie Mullins ran a pair of flip-flopping-favourites in Punchestown’s Irish Stallion Owners EBF Maiden Hurdle today and won in unfortunate circumstances with You Oughta Know, which capitalised on stablemate Port Joulain 's early exit.

The first load of horses have left for Cheltenham and the last ones were on the gallop this morning. All the work is done now and we’ll see how the ball bounces now for the rest of the week.

At last he’s improving, that fella. He’s probably not the simplest horse to ride, he’s very fussy with his mouth and we might try and sort that out,. Paul said when he got down and rode him he went straight for him and he was happy but he has a very tender mouth. He’ll possibly be better going left-handed. I don’t know where we’ll go, he might be more Fairyhouse/Punchestown but they are two right-handed tracks. I probably see him more as a chaser. He could make the top grade as a chaser, rather than a novice hurdler. If we do a bit of work on getting his head carriage right, it could improve him a good bit.

He was on my Cheltenham Bumper team but I couldn’t get him ready in time, so I put him by for this race and I’m very pleased with him. We’ll probably have a look at a winners' bumper at the big Festivals.
