We said today we’d jump him out and let him enjoy it. We’ve had plenty of problems with this lad. It’s his first run back and we think we’ve sorted these bits and pieces — it’s a nice surprise. The plan was always to go over fences over the summer, and we said we’d give him a chance to win a hurdle before that. He might win another one now on his way to fences. There is a nice race on the Flat in him too, a two-mile Flat race. It would be lovely to go to Fairyhouse at Easter with him and then on to Punchestown.

On the better ground he came back to his form,. He was running over hurdles all winter and didn't have much luck. He won his first Flat race on this type of ground and has won three on the Flat now and two hurdles. While he's running well on the Flat we'll keep him to that but he jumps well also. Rory gave him a good patient ride.

I had no confidence against Willie's (Royal Caviar) but he'd won two flat races. I've no plans and it was a case of get today out of the way first. He'd like better ground and has a good bit to learn about jumping but has a real good engine.

He's a good tough horse and he'll win again. I'd say he wouldn't like it as soft as this and he'll go jumping in due course. He won in Tipperary very impressively on better ground,.

Nothing was unexpected . we came to the races to win. He's a nice horse and he'll make a lovely hurdle horse as he stays well. I wanted to come here for the mile and a half and this is the best ground he's got. We were only fourteen lengths behind Bolger's horse (Cosmic Cannonball) at Gowran and I'd expect her to be rated around 100 and we were here off just 61.
