Permission was given for Dark Esteem (IRE) to go early to post and be mounted on the chute.
An enquiry was held into the running and riding of Medway (GB), ridden by Jamie Spencer and trained by David Simcock, which appeared to be tenderly ridden in the closing stages, finishing seventh of ten, beaten by 8 lengths.
The rider was interviewed and shown recordings of the race.
The rider stated that Medway (GB) ran keenly in the early stages and when he asked the colt for an effort in the straight, Medway (GB) was intimidated by Goodwood Glen (GB), unplaced, and Duty Of Care (GB), placed third, as they shifted in toward his mount.
His explanation was noted.
Following the race, David Probert reported that Abrag (IRE), placed fourth, was slowly away, Luke Morris reported that The Vegas Raider (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away and ran green and the Veterinary Officer reported that Hanoverian King (GER), unplaced, had lost its right hind shoe.
Jim Crowley reported that Maraakiz (IRE), unplaced, stopped quickly and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post- race examination of the colt, during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
