FormscanBy Michael Graham - HAND OVER FIST really enjoyed a staying trip when successful for the first time over fences in Kilbeggan. The first-time cheekpieces that were deployed are retained for this assignment. He won twice over hurdles and there should be more to come in this discipline. Winding River didn't perform on his last visit here, but that was the first time he finished out of the first three on six visits to Downpatrick. He has competed in higher grades and has to be respected in first-time blinkers. Room To Roam has plenty of experience to call upon and knows how to pick up prize money. There is no doubt that Tullyveery Lad has the ability to get involved, but he has failed to complete the course in two of his last three races.

The leader ran the other day against a horse of ours in Down Royal so we felt we would sit in behind him and see how we go. It was a king of a raggedy start I thought and anyway it worked out for us in the end. I suppose the other horse tired. He did (relish the better ground) and Barry gave him a very timed ride. He looked to have a lot to do but I thought the leader was going very quick after running during the week. He felt he would reel him in but you have to go and do it. He will probably head to Punchestown (for the final). I think he is improving a bit and the ground helped him. He has a real good page this lad. He was a little bit hard to handle early on and if you saw him three months ago, you'd say there was no handling him. He's come a long way

He is around forever and that's his third win. He got an injury running around here and when he came back he wasn't right for a long time, but he is in a right vein of form now. He isn't winning big races but it's great for his owners. . If he comes back and eats up, he'll probably run again on Sunday (over fences). Paddy Hanlon was suspended today, so we got Donagh instead and you couldn't get better. Paddy gets on very well with him and he'll probably be disappointed today, but he'll ride him on Sunday. . My nephew Paddy had a winner earlier for Kieran Purcell and I'm delighted for them.

We were touch and go about running so I'm glad we did now! They didn't have any rain really since this morning. She's a proper quick-ground filly. Mark's (McNiff) horse is a decent filly (Lighthouse Rose) around here so it was a good performance to get on top of her. She wants every yard of that trip; she will stay further.

He just stays galloping all day, he needs a trip. He got hampered a little bit at the old double, it wasn't ideal but he was hard and finished out strong. He loves the banks and we aim him for these races the whole time. The ground was just against us all season, we wants good ground. He won on firm here when taking the Ladies Cup and La Touche in one week. I was delighted to see it drying a bit here yesterday. He's lightly-raced and we'll see how he comes out of this. He's declared for Saturday and we'll see tomorrow how he is.
