The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages of this race involving Cushinstown Finest, ridden by Mr J.C. Gainford, placed first, Electricitywork, ridden by C. Brassil, placed third and Drumconnor Girl, ridden by Mr C. Abernethy, placed fourth, where it appeared that Cushinstown Finest and Drumconnor Girl received interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Electricitywork had caused interference to Drumconnor Girl which was significant enough to improve Electricitywork's finishing position in relation to Drumconnor Girl
The Stewards therefore reversed the third and fourth placings and were satisfied that C. Brassil was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered C. Brassil's record in this regard, the Stewards suspended him for 2 racedays. The amended result of this race now reads; First Cushinstown Finest, Second My Galway Girl, Third Drumconnor Girl, Fourth Electricitywork, Fifth Charlotte Wells, Sixth Long Island Jenn.
