He has serious ability but I just thought he mightn't be man enough for today. He has a future and thought today would teach him a bit and he would go back for a bumper but that is scuppered now. I'm delighted to get the win though and he is a horse of natural ability. He definitely handles good ground but we're not sure and can't say if he'll handle soft ground yet. The Stewards fined Anthony Mullins, trainer, ?350 for lodging a passport in respect of Mr Nicolls, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order. D.J. Mullins, rider of Guitar George trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Mr Nicolls trained by Anthony Mullins was found to be lame on his left fore limb when examined post race.
