An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference in the concluding stages when the winner, Lisnagar Oscar (IRE), ridden by Sean Bowen, interfered with Dickie Diver (IRE), placed second, ridden by Barry Geraghty.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Lisnagar Oscar (IRE)’s placing as there was minimal contact between the two runners approaching the winning line and Lisnagar Oscar (IRE) always appeared to be holding Dickie Diver (IRE), with the official margin being a head.
The interference was found to be accidental as Lisnagar Oscar (IRE) had edged marginally right-handed despite the rider’s efforts to correct the gelding, resulting in Dickie Diver (IRE) being taken slightly off its intended line.
Following the race, the representative of Nicky Henderson reported that Ganache (IRE), which was pulled up, was unsuited by the going, which was officially described as Good to Soft on this occasion and would prefer a faster surface.
