Having reviewed recordings of the false start, the Starters were satisfied that no riders should be reported for contravening the starting procedures.
At the first hurdle, Sergeant Wilson (IRE), which subsequently fell, decelerated on its approach, veered left-handed when jumping the hurdle and in doing so brought down Trick Of The Tail (IRE), resulting in Meetmelater (IRE), which was pulled up, and Yeomen Warder (IRE), unplaced, being hampered on landing, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Gavin Sheehan reported that Keep Running (FR), unplaced, hung right-handed.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Gentle River (GB), which was pulled up, was lame on its left hind and that Trick Of The Tail (IRE), which was brought down, was lame on its right hind.
