The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Burning Lake, ridden by D.W
O'Connor, placed first and Gold Jasmine, ridden by S. Foley, placed second, where it appeared Burning Lake carried Gold Jasmine across the track. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Burning Lake had caused interference to Gold Jasmine and in doing so had improved his finishing position. The Stewards therefore reversed the placings of the first two horses
The result now reads; First; Gold Jasmine, Second; Burning Lake, Third; Han Solo (GB), Fourth; Red Bloodedcruiser (GB), Fifth; Indiana Grey, Sixth; Me Well
D. O'Brien, rider of Isotope trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was hampered in the straight
S. Foley, rider of Gold Jasmine trained by K.J. Condon, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was carried across the track in the last 200 yards.
