Million Reasons (IRE) ran yesterday, 5 July 2022, at Wolverhampton, finishing seventh of ten.
Having been examined by the Veterinary Officer pre-race, the gelding was deemed fit to run.
David Probert, the rider of Andre Amar (IRE), drawn in stall 2, was slow to remove the blindfold resulting in the horse being slowly away.
Probert’s explanation that he lost his grip on the first attempt to remove the blindfold was noted.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 furlong out involving the winner, Million Reasons (IRE), ridden by Pat Cosgrave and THEGREVYTRAIN, placed third, ridden by William Carson.
Cosgrave was cautioned for careless riding as he had misjudged the size of the gap when angling around the heels of the leader Edge Of The Bay (GB), placed fourth, making light contact with THEGREVYTRAIN, which was carried off its intended line as a result.
Following the race; Ray Dawson reported that Mr Pc (IRE), placed fifth, ran too free; Callum Shepherd reported that Rathagan (GB), unplaced, stumbled inside the final furlong and David Probert reported that Andre Amar (IRE), unplaced, was reluctant to jump away from the stalls.
