Misty Mountain wins Sligo's opener
we'd have been disappointed if she wasn't in the first three and she's a better mare this year. She had a bit of a break with the covid and when I ran her in Tramore off the break, we knew she had improved from the run. She was working the house down, I fancied her today and I thought she was the one to beat. I told the owners to have a few quid on her. She worked very well during the week. She's run twice around here and she's run very well.
Anna Bunina records consecutive wins
it was a tight little race, like a handicap and we were regretting taking her out of Galway last week when Guinevere went and won. She's not big but she's a big heart. and she has a lot of ability. I'd say she's better going left-handed - she hung out slightly in Cork and and she hung out here and most of her wins on the Flat were going left-handed as well but I'm delighted with her. I'd say she might end up in the Lartigue Hurdle (at Listowel). She has black-type as well from her first run over hurdles and if we had more like her and (stablemate) Go Another One we'd be laughing.
Brouder back amongst the winners
I got a grand freebie, I got to fill him all the way. He's a very free-going horse. I kind of figured him out straightaway going down to the start. He's one of those free old types. You're probably better off ignoring them, let them run for a hundred yards and they'll come back to you. That's what I found out going down to the start, and that's what I done. It was pretty simple after that.
Boost for Sceptical's trainer with Sligo success
it's a big blow, but life goes on. It happens and it was just a pity that this time it was a superstar. It'll happen again and we just have to live with it.
Nero Rock wins well for Morris and McInerney
Hogan starts new chapter with Sligo double
he made hard work of it; even though he won well in Galway he still had a race so we'll take our time now and we'll probably park him up until Listowel. Donagh gave him a lovely ride, he didn't panic when he was under pressure down the bottom. He needed every yard of the trip and wouldn't have won over two miles here today. He's a chaser in the making.
First and last races double for Willie Mullins
she's very laid-back and her pedigree is all stamina. I'd say as she goes up in trip she'll improve. It's great for the Closutton Racing Club, they'd a winner in Galway as well. James Fenton picked this mare out and I think that's the third time one of his mares has won this bumper after Miss Me Now and Zola. She's a fine big mare with plenty of size to jump a hurdle and even a fence. We've had a lot of luck with (stallion) Robin Des Champs.
