An enquiry was held to consider interference on the bend leaving the back straight involving Menin Gate (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Miss Brodie Hampson; Ghostly (GB), placed seventh, ridden by Miss Alex Garven, and Meadow Sprite (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Miss Sophie Smith.
Being a 7lb claiming amateur, Miss Garven was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
Due to the very limited video coverage of the incident, Stewards were unable to apportion blame and found that Ghostly (GB) had raced tight to the inside of Meadow Sprite (IRE) for some distance rounding the bend, before ultimately having to be checked against the rail after the rider of Meadow Sprite (IRE) had been unable to alleviate the pressure following slight crowding from Menin Gate (IRE) to its outside, which changed leads and lugged left-handed.
Following the race, Miss Brodie Hampson reported that Menin Gate (IRE), unplaced, was never travelling, Miss Becky Smith reported that Wholelotafun (IRE), unplaced, was unsuited by being unable to dominate, having been taken on for the lead on this occasion and Miss Alex Garven reported that Ghostly (GB), placed seventh, suffered interference in running.
