An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 2 furlongs out involving Valiant Knight (GB), unplaced, ridden by Rob Hornby, Miakoda (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Thomas Greatrex and Northern Blaze (GER), unplaced, ridden by Daniel Muscutt.
The interference was found to be accidental as Valiant Knight (GB) was shifting right-handed before being corrected by Hornby, carrying Miakoda (IRE) off its intended racing line which in turn caused Daniel Muscutt to take a precautionary check on Northern Blaze (GER).
An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong involving the winner, Bay City Roller (IRE), ridden by Callum Shepherd, Vecu (IRE), placed second, ridden by Robert Havlin and Valiant Knight (GB), unplaced, ridden by Rob Hornby.
The interference was found to be accidental as Bay City Roller (IRE) shifted marginally right-handed at the same time that Vecu (IRE) went for a legitimate gap between Bay City Roller (IRE) and Valiant Knight (GB) causing Hornby to take a precautionary check on a weakening Valiant Knight (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving the winner, Bay City Roller (IRE), ridden by Callum Shepherd and Vecu (IRE), placed second, ridden by Robert Havlin.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Bay City Roller (IRE)’s placing as despite Bay City Roller (IRE) making brief contact with Vecu (IRE), there was minimal loss of momentum and Vecu (IRE) always appeared to be held on the run to the line with the winning distance being a neck.
Shepherd was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he was slow to correct his mount from shifting right-handed, causing Vecu (IRE) to be momentarily crowded for room against the running rail.
