Tim Easterby was informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong when the winner Fleetwood Pier (GB), ridden by Connor Beasley interfered with Code Purple (GB), placed second, ridden by Andrew Mullen.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved FLEETWOOD’s placing as Beasley had allowed his mount to drift right-handed towards the rail causing the rider of Code Purple (GB) to be short of room for several strides and to take a significant check, losing ground and momentum, before then having to switch in order to re-make his challenge and being beaten ¾ s length at the line.
The revised the placings as follows: First: Code Purple (GB), Second: Fleetwood Pier (GB).
Beasley was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he had failed to take sufficient steps to prevent the interference to Code Purple (GB).
