He’s a straight forward horse in this class. He had a bad draw but still had the class. Hopefully nobody claims him and we can run him again here on Friday (in another claimer).

He’s ran good solid races and deserved to have a win. The mile suited him. It’s very unusual for a horse to come back from Hong Kong to win races in Dundalk but Alice (Fitzgerald) got him back. She bred him and sold him. She decided when he was so well handicapped to send him up to us and see if we could sweeten him up as he’d gone very sour out there. He got a good ride and they went good and fast which suited him. I might source a few more horses in Hong Kong now!

Sceptical looks smart prospect for Hogan

He’s a lovely horse and was a bargain buy (for 2,800 sterling). As soon as we worked him we could see he had gears to burn. He was green here the first time, walked out of the stalls but came home well. He came on in leaps and bounds for the run. The boys have a couple of nice sprinters now and hopefully he’ll be one to add to the team next year. They are great supporters of me and of Dundalk racecourse, and they gotYuften back today as well so they are happy going home. I’m not sure what is here for him or even what sort of mark he will get. We have no real plan, and it’s not the end of the world if we have to park him until next year. It’s great to have Dundalk and it would be great if they could race twice a week all through the winter. It’s good that it was a day meeting today for the staff as well. That’s why I’m here as I’m not home at all hours and can function tomorrow.

English dreaming of Dubai after Geological hat-trick

He’s getting better with age. We nominated him for Dubai and he was off 90 today so we’ll see what happens. He’s never actually looked this well during the winter season up here. His coat is immaculate and his confidence is up. Vanessa gets some tune out of him and we always said he loved the women!. Before his hundredth start he’d never won two in a row and he’s won three in a row now. This horse has done so much for us and is part of the family at this stage. Vanessa is with Jack Davison but she rides work for us. She is a great kid and we will be using plenty more of her up here over the winter. We could come here once more before Christmas but if Dubai is on the cards we could go straight there. It’s up in the air at the moment.
