An enquiry was held to consider two incidents of possible interference involving Whataguy (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Megan Nicholls and Tin Hat (IRE), placed sixth, ridden by Martin Dwyer.
In the first incident, shortly after the start, Nicholls was cautioned for careless riding as she had angled left-handed towards the rail when insufficiently clear, causing Dwyer to have to take a slight check.
In the second incident, approaching 1 furlong out, the interference was found to be accidental as Whataguy (GB) had hung left- handed towards the rail, despite the rider’s best efforts to correct the gelding, causing Dwyer to take a check.
Following the race, Megan Nicholls reported that Whataguy (GB), placed fifth, hung left-handed, Nicola Currie reported that Champion Brogie (IRE), placed third, was denied a clear run 1½ furlongs out and Robert Havlin reported that Tinto (GB), which started favourite and finished second, took a false step approximately 1 furlong out.
