Jumping the second fence, the winner, Mixedwave (IRE) jumped left-handed resulting in Flann (GB), placed second and Legendary Rhythm (GB), unplaced, bumping, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Mixedwave (IRE).
Jumping the second fence, Methodtothemagic (IRE), placed third, slowed markedly, causing Delgany Monarch (IRE), placed fourth, which was following to jump awkwardly, this in turn resulted in the gelding severely bumping El Diablo (IRE), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Methodtothemagic (IRE).
The winner, Mixedwave (IRE) appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Catterick Bridge on 12 January 2023 where the gelding was beaten 45 lengths.
Pam Sly’s explanation that the gelding had benefitted from jumping better on this occasion was noted.
Mixedwave (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Lee Edwards reported that Adamhill (IRE), placed fifth, jumped green throughout, Kevin Brogan reported that On The Bandwagon (IRE), unplaced, made several jumping errors and Tabitha Worsley reported that Delgany Monarch (IRE), placed fourth, hung left-handed in the home straight.
