Like mother like daughter
She'll hopefully come back here for the listed race (Coolmore Stud Sprint Stakes). Then she could go to Ascot.
Cappella confirmed as juvenile of substance
We came here to be second but Aidan (O'Brien) had the courtesy to pull out his horse. These are funny little races. They went no gallop and we gave him a chance as we weren't sure about the ground. He was sold since his last run but there was a bit of messing. He passed the vet and everything, but the owner pulled out when he couldn't re-name him. We came here for a bit of work to see what direction we were heading in. The plan is Royal Ascot and we wanted to see if we'll go for the Marble Hill first. Everyone was knocking the form at Dundalk because he won so easy. He needed today . this was like his first day. We'll look at the Marble Hill now and I'd say he'll drop back a furlong at Royal Ascot (the Norfolk Stakes). Colin said he just got away with the ground today . it rode very dead on him.
Tarfasha makes the Blue Wind her own
I thought she did it very nicely for a filly having her first run back. It was a very true run race and Pat said she gave a little blow half a furlong down but she got her second wind and ran on nicely. I'll have a word with Sheikh Hamdan (winning owner), it's his decision but I would be encouraging him to have a crack at the Epsom Oaks. I appreciate he has the favourite for the race (Taghrooda) already. She handled that ground but she'll really love fast ground. She's a good filly and there's lots to look forward too.
Near 17/1 Naas double for Weld and Smullen
It was a good workmanlike performance. He battled away and he stuck at it. They went pretty quick up front which helped us. It was a very true run maiden and he stayed on at the finish. We'll go for a handicap with him,.
A special winner for the Murtagh family
It's the best birthday present I've ever had. It's great for her as she's very determined. I wish I was that dedicated when I was 18. She wants to give it a go. She rides well and she's been riding plenty of work with the lads. I said to her that it was his first time over seven and to take her time. He's a horse that likes to be dropped out and to find his feet. He's the same over five furlongs . he's been flying home.
