Affogato justifies support on first start for Lyons
Quick double for Lyons & Keane with Beams
The last day he ran into two good horses in Navan. He got a little bit upset before the race and because of that ran a bit too fresh. That took it out of him but he behaved much better today. Colin said he just pricked his ears in the last 150 yards and got a bit idle. There is a bit of improvement to come. He’s a fine looking horse and handled the ground. He could step back a bit in trip and we’ll have a bit of fun with him.
One-two for Murtagh as Knight scores
OTI (Racing) have been good supporters of ours and they seem to have bought another nice horse. Ben said he was very green when he hit the front and pricked his ears but he stayed on nicely. I thought he was a horse that would probably stay a mile and a half, and he might, but he showed enough speed around there today. I don’t have him that long and he’s sure to improve. He’s a big backward horse and should improve with racing.

Murtagh & Coen bag brace as Poetry impresses
She was a very nice filly last year. We ran her in a Listed race after a good run first time out in Cork and she was always going to be a better three-year-old. She’s really developed over the winter and that was pretty impressive. She may get a mile and a half. I don’t think she needs it soft and I’d say she’ll go on any ground. She’s a good physical. She loves bowling along and Ben said she was in a lovely rhythm all the way.
Bengal lunges late to give Lee treble
She’s a very straight-forward and honest filly. Billy thought the little bit of an ease in the ground helped her. Billy said that Shane (Foley, on True Artist) robbed two lengths on him and he wasn’t going to kill her first time out to get there. She kept trying and trying.
Fabulous four timer for Lee at Gowran
She’s a nice filly and I’m delighted Ballylinch sent her to us last year. I was hoping she would do something like that. She’s the first horse I’ve had for Ballylinch. Billy likes her and he thinks she will progress plenty. She is out of a Galileo mare and it’s a family that seems to improve with age. She is the second foal. The first foal won as a five-year-old in Del Mar last year first time out, and the dam won last year as a ten-year-old after having the two of them in Germany.
