He was nearly stopping in front again. He gets the mile well but you just have to give him a chance. When he hits the front I don't know if he idles or gets outstayed. We thought the fast pace would suit him and he travelled really well. It was a lovely ride by Wayne and just got there at the right time. Toccata Blue was the one we were most afraid of. I didn't plan to come back here with him as I didn't think he'd get away with the surface but it's easier now. If it had been as quick as last year he wouldn't have come. An extended handicap for three yrs old and upwards (95 = 9st 10lb)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap shall not be less than 9st 10lb
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra; for each race won. Any horse rated above 95 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 9st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 95 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note any three year old rated above 95 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
