Fast Frenetic off to a flyer
she's a lovely filly and we've always thought a bit of her. She's owned by new foreign clients, managed by Ed Sackville. Ed Sackville bought her at the sales (for 170,000gns at Tattersalls last October) and Ger was underbidder on her that day. He kindly sent her to us afterwards. She's been very professional from the word go and we knew she was an early type. Colin said she was very professional in the stalls, very professional throughout the race, and liked the ground. On that performance you'd like to think we'd go stakes hunting now. We'll stay at home and probably go to Naas next (Group 3 Juvenile Fillies Sprint on July 4th). She's very sharp and professional. We knew that and wanted to get her on to the track to prove it to us. We have a nice bunch of horses.
Boughtinthedark wins on 13th attempt
last year she was always on the weak side and she had been running okay without getting in the money. She did super over the winter and she was ready to run two months ago. It's great as they are lovely owners and really good supporters of mine. They love the filly, it's a pity they can't be here but it's the same for everyone and they'll be delighted sitting at home. It's their only horse and they absolutely adore her. I'll look for something similar now. I tried to put her in at the Curragh at the weekend but it was a 50-70 and she's only 44. Sometimes you want them low but it doesn't always pay to be that low. I think there is a race at Tipperary over five in two weeks.
Joyce welcomes a Blast from the past
it was brilliant to get a win out him again for the owner Sean. He came with us when I joined up with Ger so it's great. He (Shane Foley) gave him a super ride, you couldn't ask for anything better, he rode him to perfection. He needs to be delivered late as he's a horse that kind of stops when he hits the front, when he gets a bit of daylight. He loves the ground.

it wouldn't have been ideal having to make her own way up against the rail as she works better at home in behind but she's done it well. We'll see where we got from here but we'll keep her at sprint distances for the meantime anyway. She had a good run at Dundalk so I suppose she was entitled to do that. We'll see how she comes out of it. There is a fillies Listed race at Naas in a couple of weeks time (Polonia Stakes on June 20th).

Harrington provides the highlight
we couldn't be happier with him. He was unlucky at the end of last year to get beat and it's great that's he's come out and done that today. He really battled. He's learning to do things right now. Shane jumped out and kept him out to let him relax in his own time. I think he'll get a lot of confidence from today. He has a few entries and I'll let mum, Michael (Donohoe) and Mr Zhang have the conversation about where they are going to go. He's very versatile and I think he'll go on any ground. He's just a good solid horse and a exciting, fun horse to have for all those group and listed races. He could be anything if he keeps improving like he has.
Freshened Mutadaawel finishes day well
I had him entered for the Lincoln and I thought he was good enough to run a respectable race there. So if I thought that I thought he should win today. He had a break because of Covid-19 but he came back in as fresh as a daisy and we've been very happy with him. Conor is back riding out and knows the horse inside out. I thought he hit the front a little bit soon but the horse just took him there as he was full of running. He toughed it out at the end. Jim Bolger and Kevin Manning got me last year at the Curragh, on the line, and I thought they were going to do the same again today (with short-head runner-up Ambitious Approach). Thank-god he toughed it out. It's a serious way to start the season and we badly needed it. The horses seem to all be in very good form and hopefully the bit of a break did us all the world of good.
