The Stewards interviewed Miss P.B. Newman, rider of Cry Of The Dreamer, concerning her use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that she was in breach of the regulation and apologised for her actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that Miss. P. B. Newman was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency
Having considered Miss. P. B. Newman's record in this regard the Stewards cautioned her on this occasion
Ms L. O'Neill, rider of Mr Caplan trained by Mrs Denise Foster, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount was too keen early on and blew up as a consequence

Rules or Rules of Racing Weights - 12st 2lbs Mares allowed 7lbs Riders - Ladies who are Qualified Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules. Ladies who are Professional Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules (other than Apprentices) who have not lost the right to claim the 7lb allowance under Rule 52 (iii) (up to and including 30th April) may also ride in this race. HRI Directive 4 (i) (c) is suspended for the purpose of this race
