When leaving the stalls, Port Noir (GB), placed second, jumped awkwardly and shifted left-handed as Wee Fat Mac (GB), placed fourth, jumped slightly right-handed, causing Portelet Bay (GB), unplaced, to lose ground when crowded for racing room.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placings of Port Noir (GB) and Wee Fat Mac (GB).
Following the race, William Cox reported that Red Alert (GB), placed third, was denied a clear run inside the final furlong, Luke Morris reported that Savalas (IRE), unplaced, hung right-handed throughout and Daniel Muscutt reported that ARLECCHINO’S GIFT, unplaced, was restless in the stalls and as a result, slowly away.
