The winner, State Crown (IRE), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Aintree on 11 June 2021, where the gelding finished ninth of eleven, beaten 25¼ lengths.
Evan Williams explained that State Crown (IRE) had benefitted from a break and appreciated the return to Newton Abbot where the gelding has winning form.
State Crown (IRE) was routine tested.
