Permission was given for The Gay Blade (GB) and Little Chance (GB) to be led to post early, and for The Gay Blade (GB) to wear a red hood in the preliminaries.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race interference approaching the final furlong involving the winner Chester Le Streak (GB), ridden by Oisin McSweeney, Gullane One (IRE), placed third, ridden by Sean Kirrane, and Tashgheel (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Sam James.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Chester Le Streak (GB) as the incident happened approaching the final furlong with James losing very little momentum which was deemed to be less than the winning distance of ¾ length.
The Stewards considered the interference caused by Kirrane to be accidental as his mount lugged quickly right.
McSweeney was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left without sufficient correction at the same time as Kirrane’s mount lugged right causing Tashgheel (IRE) to be eased slightly and switched.
