McAuley lands another claimer with Bringsty
It's brilliant to get. It's well known now that we have rapeseed growing beside us so they are struggling away,. At Punchestown one bled and I'd say one of them probably bled there as well. We're not running anywhere as many as we normally do and it's just trial and error. We put a salt therapy machine in the yard and I'd say that's helping some of the horses. We're coming out the other end, we can see it dying off and I'd say in another month it will be gone. To be able to tip away with the odd winner between now and then is grand.
Vega strikes on first start for Twomey
That was great. She's a new filly, it was nice place to start and it worked out,. She was rated 100 and ran in the Epsom Oaks. I didn't think anything else in the race, unless Mr Weld's was very good, was of that calibre. She was fourth in a Group 3 and fourth in a Cheshire Oaks, and not beaten too far in an Epsom Oaks, but had no black-type so the mission is to try and get some black-type. She's a Lope De Vega filly with a good pedigree, and a nice looking filly, so that's the plan.
Perfect Portrait lands the odds
She deserved to win that, she was fourth in a Group 3 at the Curragh last year so she had the form. Dylan said she has improved a lot from her first run (third over course and distance). He said a bit more cut in the ground would suit her and going up to a mile-and-a-half. She's a smart filly and she's going to get her black-type no problem. Onwards and upwards from here.
Nation's Call a winner for Weld & Hayes
He's been consistent and he gave him a good straightforward ride. It's lovely ground here this evening, he's a tough colt and battled well.
Bowen plays a mean Pinball
Shona Mea again shows her fondness for Gowran
We're delighted with her, she's a tough filly. She's had two really bad draws, the last time she was here and at Cork last week. Scott had to use her up an awful lot jumping out of the gates the last day. It was maybe a touch quick in the straight for her in Cork but she came out of that run well. A mile is her minimum, a mile-and-a-quarter would be an awful lot better for her. I think there is another nine-and-a-half furlong race for her here in about three weeks time so she'll come back for that. We'll give her an easy week after that. She has won three around here and always runs a good race, she absolutely loves Gowran so we'll keep coming here with her.
