Following concerns raised by the riders at the start regarding the low sun obscuring their vision at the first two fences in the back straight, the Stewards consulted with the Clerk of the Course and ordered that these obstacles should be by-passed for this race.
Charlie Todd, the rider of the winner, Overtoujay (GB), was suspended for 2 days for using his whip in the incorrect place on the run to the line.
Being a 7lb claimer, Todd was accompanied by a senior jockey.
Following the race, Tom Buckley reported that his saddle slipped on Ortenzia (IRE), which he pulled up shortly afterwards.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Dreyfus (IRE), placed fourth, was treated for post-race heat stress.
