Permission was given for Mr Gambino (GB) to go early to post.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race following two incidents of interference involving Tiberio Force (GB), placed second, ridden by Phil Dennis, and Oscar Doodle (GB), placed third, ridden by Ben Robinson.
In the first incident, inside the final two furlongs, Dennis was suspended for 2 days for careless riding for allowing his mount to drift right-handed towards the rail when insufficiently clear causing Robinson to have to check for several strides.
The second incident, approximately half a furlong out, was found to be accidental as having run straight, Tiberio Force (GB) hung quickly left-handed away from the whip before being corrected, causing Robinson to have to take a further check on Oscar Doodle (GB).
The Stewards considered that the momentum lost by Oscar Doodle (GB) in both incidents accounted to more than the half a length by which the gelding was beaten and, therefore revised the placings as follows: First, Balqaa (GB); second, Oscar Doodle (GB); third, Tiberio Force (GB); fourth, City Of Life (GB).
Approximately one furlong out Mr Gambino (GB), unplaced, shifted quickly right-handed before being corrected, causing the rider of Fairy Footprints (GB), unplaced, to have to take a momentary check, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that DELIGHTFULLY, unplaced, had an irregular heart beat.
