Cup winner Weld lands Killarney's opener
Victory for Valor with new recruit
it was her first run for us so I'm thrilled. Team Valor are very good supporters of mine and it is great to train another winner for them. In Naas she looked impressive and has confirmed that it was accurate here today. I thought we'd see how today went and then make a plan - her owners are ambitious. Today's trip would be her minimum and, I think, the last Ruler Of The World who broke her maiden here was Iridessa (Breeders Cup Filly And Mare Turf winner).
O'Brien's Bright Idea to have an across-the-card treble
Four winners on day for O'Brien and two for Crosse
Angel's Trumpet an across-the-card double for Fahey
This is the first horse to run in these colours and Anthony Rogers and my wife Ber have him between them and are hoping to raise more funds for Cancer Trials - Pat Smullen's set-up. I put up a year's training fee last year and we had a horse, but it didn't work out. In fairness to Anthony Rogers, of Airlie Stud, he came to me and said he had this horse with Willie (McCreery) which would suit. I'm delighted for them and all this prize money goes to the Trials. Ryan is a very very good rider, is with me full-time and is very strong and it would be great to get another winner to get his claim down as that's nearly his lowest weight. I think the horse will improve for that and we'll go for something similar next.
Fall For A Kiss a brace for Keane
She had a few bits of pieces of decent form, she had come down the ratings and Colin was class on her. He rode her very cold and she latched on it and won well in the end. She might go to the July Sales.
Hazran pops up at 40/1 in Killarney
It is lovely to get him back as he is a horse who cost us a lot of money and had a few mishaps. I thought the ground, after the rain yesterday, might catch him and that's why he was such a big price. He was actually entered for a beginners' chase at Kilbeggan on Friday but that mightn't happen now although we'll mix it away now for the summer. Every day he has run badly there has been a valid excuse, so hopefully he has turned the corner now.
Keane makes all on Chiricahua for a treble
He is a lovely horse, isn't ground-dependent and was third at Dundalk the last day and has won on that easy ground there. He just gallops and Colin was very good on him and he will turn out to be a very good fun horse for his American owners.
