Magnetic North strong in opening claimer
It is nice for Paul (Sweeney, owner) to get a quick return after claiming him at Limerick and I'm delighted for him. Paul is from Letterkenny and he has had horses with me for a few years now. We saw this race after Limerick and there are not many other claimers coming up to suit him. He will probably go back to handicaps now if he is not claimed. There are a few options in Galway for him and he could go there, if Paul wants a day out we will probably go there.

Vischio brings up a first double for Donohoe
That's lovely, I was hoping she'd run well. I thought she ran well in Ballinrobe. She is a good, genuine and consistent filly. In fairness, Mikey was good on her and maybe caught them unawares. He built up a lead and, when he didn't have to go for her too early, I was hopeful that she would get home. . She won here before over hurdles at the August Festival and Mikey said that she went around on rollers today, so she likes the track. She is a prolific winner at this stage, she has won six races. . I'm delighted for the owners, they are a syndicate of relations of mine. They have Goatsbridge Trout Farm down in Kilkenny. . She will probably go to Galway now for the mares' handicap hurdle before coming back here in August for the Festival. We will play it by ear.

Zoffany Bay a Derby winner for in-form Fahey
He is a horse that has plenty of ability. His ran a big race on his first run for me at Ascot in February and heading back to England was probably the wrong thing to do. We went back to Sandown with him and things just went pear shaped. He had a lovely run the last day in Tipperary and then came on to this race. . It's brilliant for Tom Raine (of Pimlico Racing Ireland) who is from Tramore and is very fond of here. He was keen to get a winner at his home track. This race is a great initiative for syndicates (confined to syndicates and racing clubs) and it was a nice pot to win.
Rutledge drives Lord Erskine home for Rogers
He probably just got first run on them. When Siobhan went for him, that was probably the winning of the race. He is not too fast nowadays but he gallops, that's the one thing about him. He has been a great servant, like his owner Jerry (Nolan) when he was here. Jerry died in the first week of December in 2021 and I lost my wife Mary a few weeks before that. Hopefully the two of them are looking down on us this evening. . He might go to Killarney now next week if there is an ease in the ground. There is a two-mile handicap there and then he might end up in Galway, but it all depends on the ground, he just likes a like ease and there is a little ease in it there tonight.
