The Starter reported that Fox Premier (IRE) was unruly in the stalls and was withdrawn at 5:25pm.
Andrew Balding was informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
Approximately 1½ furlongs out, Irreverent (GB), unplaced, hung left at the same time as Firmament (GB), unplaced, shifted slightly right which caused Captain Jameson (IRE), unplaced, to be tightened for room between the two runners, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Just inside the final furlong, Tadleel (GB), placed third, shifted quickly left despite the riders’ best efforts, causing Irreverent (GB), unplaced, to be checked slightly and Firmament (GB) to be tightened for room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Tadleel (GB).
The performance of Nicholas T (GB), which finished unplaced, was considered.
Jim Goldie could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Nicholas T (GB) failed to reveal any abnormalities.
