Permission was given for Diamond Jill (IRE) to be mounted in the chute and to go early to post and for Measured Moments (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately ½ a furlong after the start involving Nashy (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Connor Beasley, Inexplicable (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Cam Hardie and Diamond Jill (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Trevor Whelan.
Daniel Muscutt, the rider of Measured Moments (GB), placed second, was also present in the enquiry but was found not to have been directly involved in the incident.
Whelan was cautioned for careless riding as he had initially allowed his mount to shift left-handed before correcting it, when not entirely clear of a free running Inexplicable (IRE), which was briefly crowded for room and brushed against Nashy (IRE).
Rounding the home bend, Diamond Jill (IRE), unplaced, shifted quickly right-handed bumping Measured Moments (GB), placed second, which in turn made significant contact with Inexplicable (IRE), unplaced, causing both of those runners to become unbalanced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Trevor Whelan reported that Diamond Jill (IRE), unplaced, hung left-handed and Mollie Phillips reported that Destinado (GB), unplaced, was denied a clear run inside the final furlong.
