Stranger Things (GB) unseated Connor Planas in the Parade Ring.
Having been checked by the Doctor at the start, Planas was deemed fit to race.
Joey Haynes, the rider of Shyjack (GB), drawn 3, was slow to remove the blindfold, resulting in the gelding being slow to start.
Haynes’ explanation that the blind got stuck and required two attempts to remove, was noted.
The winner, Kraka (IRE) appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Lingfield on 30 July 2022 where the gelding finished seventh of nine, beaten by 11 lengths.
It was noted that Christine Dunnett could offer no explanation for Kraka (IRE)’s improved form other than the gelding may have benefited from being able to dominate in a small field on this occasion.
Kraka (IRE) was routine tested.
