The apparent improvement in form of the winner, Flash Gorcombe (GB), which had never previously been placed, was considered.
Walford’s explanation that the gelding had benefitted from a change of stable bedding at home and in his opinion a less competitive race, was noted.
Flash Gorcombe (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race Isabel Williams reported that Prime Pretender (GB), which was pulled up, was never travelling.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
