The Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after the home turn involving Mulzamm, ridden by James J. Doyle, Cracking Name, ridden by O.J. Orr and Drumquina, ridden by G.M. Ryan, where it appeared that Cracking Name got tight for room and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that G.M. Ryan was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard suspended him for 5 racedays
O.J. Orr, rider of Cracking Name trained by David Marnane, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran out of room inside the last furlong
S. Foley, rider of Airgead trained by Mrs Prunella Dobbs, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount's action shortened up in the last furlong
