Permission was given for Cabaletta (GB), Glenartney (GB) and Vesela (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
Vesela (GB), trained by Ralph Beckett, ran without its right-fore shoe as the trainer had not indicated at declaration stage that the filly should be withdrawn in the event of losing a shoe on the way to post.
The Starter reported that Abstinence (GB) refused to enter the stalls.

The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination, during routine testing of the filly, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Approaching 2 furlongs out, Vesela (GB), unplaced, edged quickly left causing Pennymoor (GB), unplaced, to be tight for room and its rider to take a slight check but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Kevin Stott reported that Glenartney (GB), placed third, hung left and David Egan reported that Cabaletta (GB), placed fifth, hung left under pressure.
The representative of D K Weld reported that Amma Grace (IRE), which started favourite and finished unplaced, was unsuited by the Good, Good to firm in places going which was changed from Good prior to this race.
